With joyful hearts and grateful spirits, the Chicago Seventh-Day Adventist Christian School celebrated the graduation of its 8th-grade Class of 2025—and leading the way was none other than Eden Nicholson, who was honored as this year’s valedictorian.
Eden’s graduation marks the culmination of years of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and faithful service. From 1st through 8th grade, Eden consistently earned her place on the honor roll, a reflection of her God-given intelligence, focus, and a deep commitment to doing all things with excellence, as unto the Lord.
But Eden’s impact extended far beyond the classroom. Throughout her middle school years, she served as the Sign Language Praise Dance Instructor, leading and mentoring a group of up to 11 girls. Through this unique ministry, she brought worship to life by combining the beauty of dance with the power of sign language, making praise accessible and inclusive. Her leadership in this space was nothing short of Spirit-led, uplifting others while glorifying God through movement and expression.
Eden’s dedication to the Word of God was also evident through her active participation in the Shiloh Trailblazers Pathfinders Bible Experience Team, which secured 1st place honors every year from 2021 to 2025. Her commitment to studying scripture, working as part of a team, and hiding God’s Word in her heart has shaped her into a bold and confident young disciple.
God continues to open incredible doors for Eden. Following graduation, she will attend one of the top four academically ranked high schools in Chicago, an achievement that speaks not only to her academic readiness but to the calling God has placed on her life. She enters this next chapter with purpose, poise, and a heart set on glorifying Christ in all that she does.
As valedictorian, Eden delivered a powerful and heartfelt address to her classmates, giving all glory to God for the journey they shared. Her message was one of gratitude, perseverance, service and faith that reminded everyone that when we are meant to be light shining for Jesus.
Eden Nicholson is more than a scholar, she is a servant, a leader, and a vessel for God’s light. As she steps into high school and beyond, we know that the same God who has been faithful in her past will continue to guide her future.
Congratulations, Eden! May your life always be a reflection of Matthew 5:16:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
