Chief Financial Officer | Elder Yvonne Collins

A native of Jamaica, West Indies, Yvonne Collins is married to William Collins. They are blessed with five adult children and seventeen lovely grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In October 2005 Yvonne accepted the call to join the Lake Region Conference Treasury Team.  She soon became the first female Associate Treasurer, Under-Treasurer and currently Treasurer/CFO in the history of The Lake Region Conference.  In addition to her responsibilities as the financial custodian of the LakeRegion Conference five-state region she serves as a local Elder at the Straford Memorial SDA Church. Prior to her arrival to Lake Region she served in many capacities for the Southwest Region Conference, most notably as the Women’s Ministries Director.

In 2012, her conference awarded her with a commission license to serve in pastoral ministries. In recognition of her dedicated service for God she has received many awards and accolades, for which she is thankful. Elder Collins seeks daily for the crown not given by human lips and hands but by the God of Heaven, who will proclaim “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord,” Matthew 25:23.

Elder Yvonne Collins lives by the motto: the Church is her College, Heaven is her University, Jesus is her Principal, the Holy Spirit is her Teacher, Angels are her Classmates, the Bible is her Textbook, Trials & Temptations are her Exams, Winning Souls is her Assignment, Prayer is her Attendance, The Crown of Life is her Degree, & Praise & Worship is her Lifestyle.

Elder Collins love for Jesus compels her to proclaim the good news of our Lord as she travels the world preaching and teaching.

Under the direction of the Treasurer in support of the mission of the conference, the treasury department provides financial and risk management services to the employees, churches and institutions of the Lake Region Conference. The purpose of the department is to process payroll, keep accurate financial records, assist in budget planning for the conference departments, churches and schools, train local treasurers and risk control officers, and to maintain efficient accounts payable management.
